Results Round up 27/10

So five matches in to the new season, and much like last season, its been a tough start with no wins in the opening five. Hopefully, like last season, this trend is reversed come the turn of the year.

The 4th Mixed lost their second match of the season, away at Beeston Valley 5-4. Harry and Maxine taking 2 with a single rubber a piece for Gurj/Aylish, Andy/Kara.

The 2nd mixed kicked off their campaign away at Crusader in division 2. With three strong men in James, Sunny and Matt, they were looking to get a positive result. However, with Crusader managing to aquire several of Binghams top end senior men over the summer, it was a tough afternoon. James and Jodie took 2, with Matt and Lisa picking up 1, but this could prevent a 6-3 defeat. I wouldn't be surprised to now see Crusaders men rise from the lower depths of the Notts league into Mens Division 1.

Monday night saw the 1st mens open their 3rd Premier League Campaign, this time hoping to stay in the division for the first time. They faced Notts University. The team took a slightly new shape, with Steve and Craig the only surving pair from last season. Andy partnered up with Matt and Sunny moved up to partner new boy James Watkins.

Despite a good team performance it was another 5-4 defeat in the ninth rubber. Steve and Craig going down 21-16 21-19.

Uni possessed one really good pair that took a maximum, Andy and Matt ran them close but tired towards the end. James and Sunny impressed on their debut.

Overall positive signs depsite the defeat
