A week of mixed results

It was a case of the good, the bad and the ugly for Mapperley Park this week.
Emma Greens 2nd ladies team got the week off to a good start with a solid 8-1 victory against Byron 2. The 3rd ladies went out to better their 2nd team counterparts on Wednesday, at home to Kimberley 2. This they did, with a resounding 9-0 victory. Maxine's new team really looking good for a top 3 finish in their first season. New players Tessa, Aylish and Charlotte have really settled into the team along side the more experienced Max, Kara and Sarah.
On the adjacent two courts on Wednesday night, the 1st Mixed took on a strong Bingham 3 side. A much better performance compared to their last outing against Forest and still missing crucial players. A 6-3 loss was the right scoreline, but signs are there that the team is recovering from the hangover suffered after relegation from Mixed Premier last season.
On Thursday night the 2nd Mixed travelled to the Nottingham Emmanuel School to take on St Giles and were somewhat surprisingly were beat 8-1. Surprising in the fact that the team had 3 of the 1st ladies and 2 of the 1st mens playing. After dropping out of Division 1 last season they will need to win another to consolidate there postion.
